Academics at Bobson Public School

Academic Philosophy

At Bobson Public School, academics are approached with clarity, structure, and purpose. We believe that education must build strong conceptual foundations while nurturing discipline, curiosity, and responsibility. Teaching and learning at Bobson extend beyond rote memorisation, focusing instead on understanding, application, and steady academic growth.

Individual attention, regular assessment, and structured classroom instruction form the core of our academic framework.

Stage-Wise Academic Approach

Pre-Primary (PG to UKG)

The pre-primary programme focuses on:

  • Language development
  • Number sense
  • Motor skills
  • Social interaction

Learning at this stage is activity-based and age-appropriate. Teachers interact closely with each child to support emotional comfort, confidence, and early learning readiness.

Primary School (Classes I to V)

The primary years lay the academic foundation. Emphasis is placed on:

  • Reading and writing skills
  • Numeracy
  • Conceptual clarity
  • Classroom discipline and routine

Students are gradually introduced to structured learning while being encouraged to ask questions and participate actively.

Middle School (Classes VI to VIII)

Middle school focuses on strengthening academic depth and independence. Students are guided to:

  • Develop subject understanding
  • Improve study habits
  • Take responsibility for assignments and assessments

This stage prepares students for the academic demands of secondary education.

Secondary School (Classes IX and X)

At the secondary level, academics become more rigorous. The focus is on:

  • Board-oriented preparation
  • Regular testing and revision
  • Time management and consistency

Students are guided closely to help them cope with increased academic expectations.

Students are prepared for Board examinations with:

  • Focused instruction
  • Regular assessments
  • Academic mentoring

Streams and Subject Combinations

Stream Selection After Class VIII (Class IX Entry)

At the end of Class VIII, students are guided to choose an academic stream for Class IX based on aptitude, academic performance, and readiness.

Streams are offered only at two entry points: Class IX and Class XI.
Once a stream is allotted, no subject changes are permitted in the following academic year.

Available Streams

Science Stream

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology
  • Mathematics

Commerce Stream

  • Commerce
  • Economics

One optional subject: Computer Applications or Physical Education

At this stage, the following subjects remain compulsory for all students, irrespective of stream:

  • English (Language & Literature)
  • Hindi
  • History & Civics
  • Geography
  • SUPW

Subject Continuity in Classes IX and X

Once a student is admitted to Class IX, the chosen subjects and stream must be continued in Class X without any change. This policy ensures academic continuity and alignment with CISCE curriculum requirements.

No change of stream or subjects is permitted between Class IX and Class X under any circumstances.

Stream Allocation After Class X (Class XI Entry)

After completion of Class X, students may apply for admission to Class XI, which is the second and final entry point for stream allocation.

  • Switching from Commerce to Science is not permitted, as it would involve substantial academic gaps due to the absence of Science subjects in Classes IX and X.
  • Switching from Science to Commerce may be considered in select cases, subject to academic performance, suitability, and availability of seats.

In practice, the vast majority of students continue with the stream they have pursued in Classes IX and X, ensuring stability and academic coherence.

Subject Continuity in Classes XI and XII

Once a student is admitted to Class XI, the selected subjects must be continued in Class XII without any change.

No change of stream or subjects is permitted between Class XI and Class XII.
